Assortment from Thursday 1 April

Ring-necked Ducks. Oddly named because the ring on the neck is barely visible while the ring around the bill easily spotted.
Perhaps the "namer" thought we might confuse it with the Ring-billed Gull ? as if!

Next Bottoms Up!
Canada Geese synchronized swimming/dunking

Then there are 2 sets of Turtles basking. Hard to believe this is happening on the first day of April this far North.
First group are in the wetlands next to Serpent River an the second group are in the Sheriff Creek Sanctuary.

.

Next: Common Merganser drake.

and lastly, Ruffed Grouse crossing the road. (to get to the other side?)
