Mergansers, Otters, Snow Bunting.

Male HOODED MERGANSER. These ducks seem to be first here in the spring and last to leave in the Autumn

FEMALE

Searching

There were 3 all told but I could not get a group shot.

Note the feet on number 2 as it dives

If you are tired rest your head on my bum

White Breasted Nuthatch, weenies and rice cakes.

First sighting this season of a White breasted Nuthatch.

Weenie Rejected
seems as tho' missus one eye likes me best.
She was carrying a whole weenie when I arrived and she dropped it in anticipation of the goodies I bring.
Odd but she prefers her weenies cut into bite sized pieces.
The Gray Jay (Canada Jay, Whiskey Jack) seized the opportunity to tear great chunks out of the frankfurter, while Missus One Eye dined on  dog kibble as well as the wiener bits.
Then showed a real  attraction to the Cheddar Cheese flavoured Rice Cake(s).

Pepe' Le Pew

Spotted at the normal Fox Feeding area.

First and only Skunk I've seen around here in the 12 years of residence. ( 'cept for one road-kill 2 weeks ago)

Unfortunate wee thing in that it has a bad case of mange and a serious limp (right rear leg)

sore foot ( rt rear) appears to be swollen

Showed some interest in the bits of meat from a turkey carcass

Shows the Mange on the face

Sore foot or no, it spun around 180 degrees in a millisecond to adopt a defensive position when it figgered the fox was too close. Surprisingly, it tolerated me,thankfully

I guess the fox wanted a taste as well as the smell
