Releasing 6 Raccoons back into the wild.

After a summer of rehabilitation
or in the case of the 4th & 5th being raised, by WILD at HEART.

The transfer of the 6.

Arriving at the 1st release location for the first group of 4.
South of the city

Not too sure they want to be free after-all

But sniffing the fresh air made a difference

Being familiar with the inside they want to see it from a different angle

removing the carriers

This one hated to see us go and had to be convinced to re-join the other 3

This next picture is of the last 2 at the time of their discovery/rescue hiding beside their dead mother.

Arrival at 2nd release site North of the city

These 2 had a bit of a reputation for being feisty. Was evident at the original rescue where the one fought off being picked up. Taking no chances here

But it turned out they were docile and friendly

in fact, this one also wanted go home with us and had to be coaxed into staying with its sibling.
