Duck Families Progress and other stuff.

Both groups are now down to 4 each. But the ducklings have grown sufficiently that there are not many threats left to worry about.
Neither mother in close attendance so the offspring are on their own

 On the path from main gate at Sheriff Creek I came across  (in the low light level of early morning) what I thought was a dog dropping. As I sidestepped to detour, it sprouted feet and headed up the path ahead of me. Knowing there was no such thing as a four legged, walking dog turd I bent down for a closer look.


 


 And discovered it was: 







 A baby Snapping Turtle. ( note the Toonie for size comparison)
