Seems late in the season but this was my first sighting of a Female Wood-Duck


What looks like an "escort" is actually a second family who's 3 goslings are hidden between them

The Sandhills refused to panic and flee until I had approached closer than I normally could. Indicating there may have been a chick nearby. But none seen.
