12th & 13th June assortment

First siting of a Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar. At the sanctuary. Very small one at only 5 cm long.
Warmer weather seeing more Painted turtles basking. Here are 3, with the largest appearing to do a balancing act.
and this wee one barely measured 5 cm.

Mid morning saw 300 odd Canada Geese drop in.

Were gone by evening with exception of 2.

Cedar Waxwings were still around in the same tree. Nesting?

Another Mallard family update.
Growing rapidly. This appears to be the 3rd family. The first numbered only 4 ducklings and when seen a couple of weeks ago were well developed.  Suspect they have now fledged and gone. 2nd family was older (by a few days) than this pictured group and have not been seen for a week or so. Gone too?
But this bunch, still numbering 7, grows daily. Led by the beak.
Another big Bullfrog.

Dragonfly

and finally a Muskrat on Moose Lake.
