Next.

Participated in this year's Christmas Bird Count.
I was a member of the "Urban Group"
We traversed the city (small) all morning , 4 of us in my car, in the all-day rain.
Our mission was among other things, to check Feeders. As most feeders are located in back yards we needed to slow and or stop and often needed the aid of binoculars.
As we were aware of how suspicious we might appear, sitting an searching the property's, out the car windows with binoculars, we always half expected to hear sirens as well as bird song, in the event some householder blew the whistle on us. ( I kept the engine running)
Our team's total count was disappointing as the vast majority of birds (unlike us) had the sense to get in out of the rain. However other teams fared better as they were covering the rural areas.
Anyway, after lunch a trip to the municipal landfill netted us, in addition to multiple Gulls, Ravens and Crows, 8 Bald Eagles. 4 each, mature and immature, all rain soaked and bedraggled.
(Rainy/Misty not best conditions for photography)
