Fishing Success, Butterfly, young Blue Jay, update on Kingbird nestlings

Great Blue Heron in the Cattail Marsh at  Sheriff Creek.

This is a Harris' Checker-spot butterfly. Bit bug-eyed.

not many Blue Jays around but this young one was doing a lot of squawking wanting to still be fed even as it looks full size.

continuing to follow the progress of the King-Bird chick's development. I had thought there were only 3 but look as if there is a 4th.

and are beginning to show  final feather colours.
